Man, I was so humbled last year. The submissions were awesome. Really inspired me to try and pick it up a notch. Over the last year, I've been accumulating the hardware for a digital recording setup. I finally got it working last week, just in time to be late for Plec! So this submission is my first experience with the new setup. I have a lot to learn about it. There are some pops and stuff that are the result of clipping. The mistakes are too! (not). Anyway, I was short on time as usual, but it's fairly representative of my flatpicking.

Fellow pickle, Doug Hepler is featured on John Hardy He recorded the rhythm, bass, lead vocal, 1st & 3rd guitar breaks in his home studio (ADAT). I added the banjo, tenor vocal and 2nd guitar break here at my new setup. Doug and I are friends from high school ('60's) but lost touch. This year, we have become reunited through Flatpick-L. Back then, I was all acoustic and he was all electric. Since then we have both expanded in the other's direction and now have much more to share. He built the guitar that he plays on this cut.

The third song, 'Cradle of Love', is an original and this is it's first time recorded. I hope you like it. If not, send all hate mail to EGJ!

I Shall Be Released' is a Bob Dylan song from ages ago. I came up with this arrangement for a band in the late 1970's and always wanted to get a version recorded.

Old Home Place needs no intro. I just got all fired up in a BG mood and felt like cranking one out up in B.
