Instruments:
I played my '99 Merrill C-18.
Slavek played his '47 Martin D-18.
Recording Equipment:
We recorded this tune using two AKG C414 microphones into a DBX 386
mic pre-amp, and from there, into a Roland VS880 (Expanded) while
sitting in my family room. My friend, John Wayne Kasch, did the final
mix at "Kingpin Studios" in West Chicago, Illinois. John has always
been, and always will be a great freind and source of inspiration.
I am most grateful to Slavek
for
playing on this with me. I have taken some lessons from Slavek and
when I told him that I was going to try to play Gold Rush for Plec
VI, he said that he'd gladly "back me up." Slavek told me to play
the lead as I wanted to and that he would fill in the rest. I think
you'll be able to tell pretty easily who's playing what! Again, thanks
to Slavek for not only being a great teacher, but for playing on this
tune with me. It was a great privilege for me.
As always, this is for the three loves of my life, Suzi,
Erin, and Mackenzie, who have shown me unconditional love and have
put up with endless practicing (but, obviously, not enough practicing!).
As SK has said, I've played until they've been ready, anyway, to throw
something at me.
Thanks to the Flatpick-L and everybody involved with
it and Plec VI.
Peace and Love that Flatpickin' Music!
