Ain't in the Family No More -- this is a tune that I wrote. The rules say "have fun" and writing stuff and singing is fun to me so that is how it got in here. The D2H on one track and me on the other. I have always struggled with the fact that I live away from "home" and am raising my kids 600 miles away from their grandparents, and this song is somewhat related to that.

Wildwood Flower -- this one is an exercise for Ben. He picked up the PLP book, and got hooked on the intermediate version of Wildwood Flower -- because it's mostly cross picking (Kaufman style of course). This is his first effort at cross picking. That's me quietly picking backup, and Ben is playing his 12 fretter.

Greensleeves -- this is also a Steve Kaufman arrangement. Me picking rhythm on one track, and me picking Steve's arrangement on the other track.

Equipment - My guitar is a '98 Collings D2H (OTIS), that I bought from Cotten's a couple years ago. Ben's guitar is something we bought in England from the guys who make Manson guitars and Brook guitars. It's a 12 fret slope shoulder dreadnaught, built slightly shallower than a standard dread. It is mahogany and sitka, is lightly built and loud, and has been wonderfully set up by the Sheriff. We used a Yamaha MD4 minidisc 4 track that I traded for on the list, an AKG c1000s mic, and a mic preamp. We did not know HOW to use any of this stuff, but we will keep working on it. This was really hard to do.

I'm 42 years old, and Ben is 15. I've been seriously trying to learn to flatpick for around 3 years. Ben has been at it for a couple years, and has been fairly serious about it since last year's Flatpick Camp.
