What a Friend We Have in Jesus (PD)-
Besides being a great melody, WAFWHIJ lends itself really well for flatpicking guitar. I'm doing it here in open D. Played on my 1992 Collings Clarence White with old D'Addario EXP strings.

Alabama Jubilee (Cobb/Yeller)-
I started doing this tune again a few months ago and have been having a lot of fun with it. I used the Mario Proulx OM-IMHO prototype with old D'Addario EXP strings and a Clayton Gold 1.07 pick. There's a special guest appearance by the Martin Backpacker on the last break. Whenever the "tone is in the fingers" or the "it's the music, man" threads appear, I threaten to take my Backpacker to the next jam. The next jam is a ways off, so I just decided to go ahead and record the Backpacker. Hey, one of the rules for Plect is "have fun", and fun I had. You should hear it plugged in!

I overdubbed electric bass (sorry!) and mandolin chop. Thanks to Keith Dunnigan for the deal on the cheap-o, ultra simple Yamaha MT-100 4-track. No punch in/outs on this little guy! Mic was a Rhode NT1, pre-amp was an ART Tube pre-amp. I just set up and recorded, wind, background noise, dogs and all.

Thanks to the members of Flatpick-L for making it what it is (and what is it?), all my off-list buddies who keep me in line, my wife and family for giving me a reason, and the Lord Jesus for being my Shepherd.
