Goodbye Pork Pie Hat Written by a jazz great, Charlie Mingus when he learned of the passing of Lester Young. I always wanted to learn this tune, and finally decided to go for it. The original was written in key of Db, and I lowered it by one half step to C. The tune is a disguised 12-bar blues. I'm playing rhythm, lead and second lead guitars (on

Isa Lei (Dedicated to my Brooke Shields, www.geocities.com/chiefnoda/brooke) This is a love song from Fiji. Just a lovely ballad. I think Ry Cooder and M Bhatt recorded it on "Meeting by the River", and Ed Gerhard did a nice version, too. I'm doing all three guitars using a Breedlove Ed Gerhard signature model. The center guitar is played fingerstyle on drop-D. The left and right guitars are flatpicked. Recording set-up is similar to above. I'm 44 years old, and I've been playing guitar for 28 years (wow!). Mostly fingerstyle, but I get occasional urge to play flatpicking. My interests spread wide, and I often try jazz and classical pieces flatpicked. I've submitted my stuff to Plectrology I ~ VI, but this is the first time I attempted multi-tracking and it was hard. My hats off to those who can do that! My special "Thanks!!!" go to the contributors of Plectrology VI and to all of you who supported the project over the years. TAB: Goodbye Pork Pie
